Fever – also known as high body temperature is not by itself an illness. It’s usually a symptom of an underlying condition, most often an infection.

 
There are various reasons why the human body temperature soars up. Normally during exercise, after having a meal or due to increased environmental temperature. But due to viral or bacterial infection, the human body fights back by an increase in body temperature this is known as Hyperthermia or Pyrexia.
